CSG Well Integrity
In September 2012, the NSW Government in Consultation with the CSG Industry, released the Code of Practice for CSG - Well Integrity. This Code of Practice sets the mandatory and minimum requirements for CSG well design, construction, reconditioning, abandonment and rehabilitation.
The design and construction of a CSG well ensures that the extraction of CSG is performed to the highest safety and environmental standard.
Three layers of high grade cement and steel create a non-porous seal, thus preventing any interconnection between the extraction of CSG and the aquifer.

The NSW Office of Water is a part of the Department of Primary Industries and is responsible for the management of the States surface water and ground water resources.
This YouTube clip is an overview of regulatory expectations of CSG well construction, to ensure there is a "sealed pathway" from the resource to the surface.
